This month | Yoga to Restore, Calm, and Reduce Stress.
Students new to my yoga classes often tell me that they decided to come to reduce their stress and anxiety. And I always tell them they are in the right place! This month, I am happy to share a Restorative Yoga for Everyone class.
There are many different styles of yoga classes, some more physical to improve strength, others about moving our joints and keeping them healthy, as well as practicing yoga to calm down and to feel less stressed. All of these styles of yoga, as well as many others, are ideal to help us to move through our stresses and those things that we struggle with.
Whether you are struggling with aging, family issues, world events, a difficult diagnosis for you or a loved one, or any other of life's challenges that come our way, I'd like to invite you to try a restorative yoga class with me. Restorative yoga is a practice where we sit or lie down and do very gentle yoga poses to help us to stretch our tired and tense muscles, and to breathe slowly and intentionally to move ourselves into the calmer side of our nervous system. This month's short practice is intended to introduce you to Restorative Yoga as well as to give you plenty of options as to how you do your practice. So, regardless of your limitations, you can do this practice.
While the video is just over 25 minutes long, you'll see that I invite you to pause the video once you get into a comfortable stretch and rest in that yoga pose for a few extra minutes. So be sure to allot yourself more time than the length of the video. I've also included a Spotify link below to one of my most relaxing playlists. If you have Spotify, feel free to click the link and listen to the music while you do the practice. Or feel free to listen to your own calming music, if that works better for you. Enjoy your class!
Restorative Yoga for Everyone
While I do not offer this style of yoga class in my online classes, I do offer Restorative and Gentle Chair Yoga classes through my in person classes. If you'd like to drop-in to a class this summer and give a full class a try, feel free to join me at Via Linda Senior Center in Scottsdale. Just stop by the front desk before you come to class and pay your drop-in fee. While I do have props like the ones used in the video on site, if you'd like to bring your own yoga mat or other props, feel free to do so.

Meditation is also a very powerful way to reduce and manage your stress. I offer both in person and online meditation classes. If you'd like to drop-in to one of my Meditation classes at via Linda Senior Center in Scottsdale, I offer the class every Friday at 12:15 PM.
